Obv. ‘al-mulk lillāh / al-ḥamd lillāh’ (‘The kingdom is Allah’s. Praise be to Allah’ in Arabic); around, ‘ḍuriba hādhā / bi baldat Utrār / sana khams / wa thamānīn wa sitta miʾa’ (This was struck in the town of Otrar in the year 685’ in Arabic).
Rev. Tamgha of Qaidu with ornate patterns around; in the margin, citing the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Nasir li-din Allah (AH 575-622 / AD 1180-1225) as ‘al-imām al-aʿẓam al-Nāṣir li-jamīʿ al-muʾminīn’ (‘The supreme Imam, al-Nasir [i.e., the One who Gives Victory] to all the believers’ in Arabic).
